Britain's Premier Church Music Label
Sell for Priory
Another warm welcome to the Priory news section and thanks to everybody who has ordered our new CDs and DVD/BluRays recently. Our latest from Durham has caused quite a stir with a programme of 75 minutes and James Lancelot's tour of the organ in the bonus features of 90 minutes! Your fantastic comments have been very welcome. Our next release in this series (available next April/May 2015) will be from Coventry Cathedral, the organ being played by Kerry Beaumont.
The real point of this article is to try and source a group of people who might like to work for Priory in their spare moments selling our CDs at Organ Recitals and Concerts in the UK.
Basically it would work as follows: Priory would appoint a group of people who would attend any organ recital in the UK by selling CDs and DVDs to the audience attending. These people would have to arrange with the church/cathedral about getting permission to attend and negotiate any facility fee that might be applicable. We would pay a commission (to be discussed) to that person on each CD or DVD sold, so that the more that is sold the more you earn. I will not go into the finer points now but each person will be given ( no charge) a comprehensive selection of our CDs/DVDs with a suggested retail price to sell. Only those sold will be charged less the commission. Applications are invited to email myself (Neil Collier) on firstname.lastname@example.org.
You may ask yourself why after 34 years of trading we have decided to put this selling method into operation. The main fact is that over the last 10 years or so we have seen a rapid decline in the number of traditional CD retail outlets from where many people purchased. Couple this with the fact that many older people (our market) do not possess or have access to the Internet, therefore we feel there is a large percentage of people who are not aware of what we sell and have not recently seen what we have in our catalogue. Rightly or wrongly we are therefore trying to find this "hidden market" and one of the ways is via organ recitals and organ days.
I hope that many of you might be interested and I look forward to hearing from you.
Enjoy the lovely weather and thanks for your support now and in the future.
